Barberton Public Library is currently accepting applications for a Librarian: Reference Services

We seek an enthusiastic and dynamic Librarian to work collaboratively in delivering innovative programs, services, and resources to the community. Responsibilities include providing reference, readers’ advisory, and technology assistance to patrons, developing and maintaining a part of the library’s collection, and creating programming and services to meet the needs and interests of the community. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation and sick leave, 12 paid holidays, health, dental, and life insurance, and retirement through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).

Qualifications: A Master of Library and Information Science degree from an ALA-accredited School of Library and Information Science is required. Excellent customer service skills and demonstrated knowledge of professional library principles, methods, procedures, and trends required. A valid driver’s license is required. Experience in a public library setting is preferred. Applicants with 6 credit hours or less towards completion of the M.L.I.S may be considered.
