Show off your writing skills for the chance to win a bag of Barberton goodies! Students in grades 9 - 12 can submit one entry in each of two categories: poetry or short story. Stories can be any genre, including fanfiction and must be fewer that 5,000 words. Choose one of two prompts: Use the following title: The Haunted Library Use the following as your first sentence: The lights went out without warning. All stories must be typed and emailed to Teen Librarian Sarah Granville at sarah.granville@barbertonlibrary.org with “Writing Contest” as the subject. Submissions must include your full name and telephone number. Please submit your story as a PDF. Entries are due by October 31. Handwritten entries are not accepted.
