Summer Student Library Volunteers
During June and July, student volunteers assist the Children’s Librarians with programs and events, including setup, crowd management and clean up.
- Must be entering 8th grade or above.
- Must fill out a volunteer application and have parent/guardians permission.
- Be reliable, friendly and caring.
- Must attend scheduled Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, June 6 from 1-3 pm.
- Able to commit to one time slot, on a weekly basis, for the months of June & July
Volunteer time slots available:
Mondays 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Assist Children’s Librarians with handing out Summer Reading Club prizes before and after the Monday afternoon performer series presentations. Assist in the Children’s Department with various tasks.
Tuesday 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Assist preschool age children with craft projects after Storytime, and assist Children’s Librarian with program set up and clean up.
Wednesday 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Assist elementary school age children with craft projects and activities during Universe of Fun programs, and assist Children’s Librarians with program set up and clean up.
Thursday 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Assist preschool and elementary school age children with craft projects after Family Storytime, and assist Children’s Librarian with program set up and clean up. Assist in the Children’s Department with various tasks.
Students interested in volunteering must be able to attend the Volunteer Orientation on Thursday, June 6 from 1pm – 3 pm.
