Family Storytime Mondays at 6:00pm

mother holds book and reads over the shoulder of young toddlerFamily Storytime is an interactive program for children and families which features stories, fingerplays and songs for youngsters ages birth to 5 years.  They are engaging programs which share reading and stories in a casual setting that encourages children to enjoy reading for fun, while they also interact with others their own age.  No sign up is required for these sessions. Join us every Monday from 6:00-6:30pm in the Spillette Meeting Room in the lower level.

​Dogs really are the best listeners. 

Children of all ages can practice reading aloud to friendly, trained therapy dogs. The dogs create a fun atmosphere to help children learn, calm children who are struggling, excite those who are bored and help kids equate reading with fun.
Join us! Meet Jack, one of our very special dogs. He loves to be read to. Read your favorite book, we're sure it will be his favorite too!
The Paws to Read dogs are at the library every fourth Saturday of the month.

Quiet Study Rooms Now Available

Quiet Study Rooms Now AvailableTwo quiet study rooms are available on the mezzanine level, located above Teen Central.  The rooms are open on a first-come, first-served basis.  The larger room seats up to six people and is appropriate for small group study, meetings, and conferences.  The smaller room seats up to four people and is suited for tutoring, quiet study, and silent work.  The spaces are open on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please register at the Reference Desk to use either of these spaces. 
 

NEW Library Catalog Launches June 14

CLEVNET logoOn June 14, customers will notice the Library catalog looks and works a little differently. CLEVNET has decided to switch to a new software to power the catalog called Enterprise. Unlike the current catalog, the new catalog will allow users to download and stream e-materials like eBooks, music and videos in the same interface they use for physical materials like books and DVDs, without leaving the catalog.

Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month!

What's cooler than being cool? Having a library card. Get yours today! September is Library Card Sign-up Month.We know a cool person like you keeps busy, so in September all late fines are forgiven!  You just need to stop by the library in person.  If you need a replacement card, that is also free for the month of September.
Adults who don't already have a card can get one just by bringing an Ohio ID with your current address.  Students under the age of 18 need to have a parent or guardian present with ID to get a library card.  Children are also eligible for a 3 for Me card if they don't have a parent or guardian with them.  Your librarian can help you determine the best card for you.
